The book I'm currently reading is "The Keysha Diaries" by Earl Sewell. This book is split into two sections. "If I Were Your Boyfriend" and Keysha's Drama. In the Keysha Diaries, Keysha's mom Justine just went back to jail. This situation put Keysha into a group home filled with other teens. The workers there helped get a hold of Keysha's biological father, and he was man enough to take a DNA test to see if he was the father. Turns out he is, and Keysha goes to stay with them. At first, she had trouble adjusting to the new change in her life. Her stepmother Barbara wasn't so easy on her. Her brother Mike was being a little ignorant, but he came out in the end. Keysha and her father are getting really close. Everytime she makes an effort to have a good conversation with him, Barbara comes and ruins it. Keysha thinks Barbara is jealous, but she doesn't care. Going to a new school is exciting and scary for her. She feels really insecure because of her appearance. She met a new friend named "Liz". Liz influenced Keysha to go to a party with her (while on punishment) to get out, and have fun. They ended up having too many drinks, and Keysha got herself into more trouble than she expected. They got caught up in a drug case which had nothing to do with her. Someone had planted the drugs in Keysha's locker. She knows Liz set her up, and she's waiting for the right time to confront her. You can't trust everyone, and that should be a lesson learned.
The book I currently read is "Dream On Amber" by Emma Shevah. This book is about a 12-year-old named Amber Alessandra Leola Kimiko Miyamoto . She's the main character who has to face her first day of secondary school, who has quite of a hard time trying to figure herself out. She is half Italian and half Japanese, she lives in South London with her mom. She has a younger sister also, her name is Bella and she is only 6-years-old. Amber being new to this school had a hard time trying to fit in with kids she has never seen before. Meeting Joanne Pyke also resulted in her getting picked on a few times. Amber's father left her when she was a toddler and her sister Bella being only a baby. Ever since then she felt like she was left with a black hole inside of her. I would describe Amber as solicitous and altruistic person. Bella's birthday was coming up and she was really interested in seeing her dad. She wrote letters to him hoping he would respond back, but Amber ...
